My name is Wesley Newsome. I have been married to Billie Newsome for 25 years and am the father of two amazing young men. We love sports, the outdoors, movies and for me chocolate ice cream. Many think I’m from Texas because my father introduced a love for all things Texas at a young age like the Dallas Cowboys, but I’m actually from Washington State. I grew up in a great community called Lake Tapps and was blessed to be raised amongst such amazing families. I met my wife, who is from a small town in Ohio, at Pizza Hut where we both worked of all places in Auburn WA way back in 1991. Not long after this I got a Teamster Warehouse job, which I worked for the next 28 years, got married, raised two boys, went to school, worked in youth ministry for much of that time, and now Pastor of SHCC.
From a very young age the Lord had spoke to me about being a pastor and I listened, but I took the detour route. Teamster Warehouse to Pastor, a 28 year detour of which I wouldn’t trade a minute except working crazy Graveyard, Swing, and Split Shifts with many nights away from my family. I’m currently a graduate of Faith International University in Tacoma with my BAR (Bachelors in Religion) and am working towards my Masers in Theology and beyond. One thing I’ve learned over all these years is if God calls you, He will equip you.
We are excited to serve this community and band together as the body of Christ with other believers to grow the Kingdom of God by demonstrating His love to all we come in contact with. Our greatest hope is to see those who are seeking, lost, or feel like there is no hope in this life come to know the resurrecting power of Jesus Christ who came to seek and save the lost.
Favorite Bible verse: Colossians 2:14
Pat Lynch has lived in Washington for nearly thirty years. He and his wife of 10 years have two beautiful daughters here on earth and boy/girl twins waiting for them with Jesus. Pat studied biblical literature at Northwest University and has had a passion for youth since he was a youth himself. He is pretty sure he has the best job on the planet! When he’s not hanging out with the youth group or running youth events, he is writing young adult fiction or exploring God’s wondrous creation with his family. He believes that a relationship with Jesus is lived out moment by moment, knowing Him, trusting in his sovereignty, and believing in his goodness in all things.
Favorite Bible verse: Philippians 3:7-10
Melody Lickert was born in Southern Idaho but moved with her family to Washington as a young girl. The Puyallup area has been her home ever since. She is happily married to Jason, and they have two beautiful girls, Mya and Isabella, a son Robert, and another son Abram James, stillborn into the arms of Jesus on July 15th 2009. We look forward to our heavenly reunion with him.
Melody has always found joy working with young people. One of the first things Melody and Jason started doing together as a dating couple was volunteer as recurrent preschool teachers in their church’s Sunday school program. They have called SHCC their church home since 2009. Melody has spent many years working in adult vocational education as an instructor at Everest College. She is passionate about family health and fitness and enjoys teaching group fitness classes at a local fitness center. Melody loves being involved in her community and is constantly looking for practical ways to share the love of Christ with those around her.

Hillary was born in Tacoma and has lived in the Tacoma and Puyallup areas for all but 2.5 years of her life (her husband Lloyd was stationed in VA during that time). Lloyd and Hillary have been married for over 30 years and have two wonderful children, Rebecca and Elizabeth. Our family has called SHCC our home since 2005 and serve in children’s ministry and special events ministries.
